The salary, in turn, made Beyoncé one of the highest paid actresses in 2019. (And acting is just her part-time job!) Here's what we know about Beyoncé's earnings from The Lion King.  Beyoncé stars as Nala in Disney's 2019 adaptation of 'The Lion King'It's time for Disney fans to return to the Pride Lands. This time, actors like Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, and Eric Andre join the cast, recreating favorite characters like Simba and Pumbaa. Beyoncé Knowles-Carter portrays Nala, one of the lead roles of the film. Of course, other members of the cast were stunned, scared and excited to work with Beyoncé. In an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Donald Glover's son, who doesn't even watch television or movies often, recognized that Beyoncé starred in The Lion King. "I was like, 'you want to go see The Lion King?' You know, just to see if he might notice my voice," Glover said. "And he was like, 'oh, sure. Beyonce's in it, right?' And I was like, 'how do you know that? But also Daddy's in it.' I'm in it, too."  How much did Beyoncé earn from 'The Lion King'?The exact amount of Beyoncé Lion King earnings is unclear. Initial reports from The Hollywood Reporter stated that the actress would make $15 million for voicing the lioness. According to Vibe, Beyoncé could earn closer to $25 million for working on Disney's film. Aside from touring, music sales, and her clothing line, Beyoncé earned an estimated $60 million in 2019 from her deal with Netflix. This partnership allowed the artist to premiere her documentary, entitled Homecoming, on the streaming platform. "I'm never satisfied," Beyoncé said in an interview with Forbes. "I've never met anyone that works harder than me in my industry… Like everyone else, you work really hard and you want it to be great; you want your friends to like it." According to Forbes, although Beyoncé's earnings within the last 12 months is an estimated $81 million, she is still not the highest paid woman in entertainment for 2019. Taylor Swift still holds that title, with $185 million. Is Beyoncé the highest paid black actress in history?The Lion King isn't the first movie Beyoncé starred in. According to IMDB, the artist acted in films like Dreamgirls as Deena Jones, Austin Powers in Goldmember as Foxxy Cleopatra, Cadillac Records as Etta James, and The Pink Panther as Xania. Still, as one of the most prominent names in the music industry, Beyoncé earned her place as one of the highest paid black actresses in history. Another highly paid actress, Whoopi Goldberg, reportedly earned $7 million from the Sister Act sequel. Other actresses, like Halle Berry, Queen Latifah, Raven Symone, and Angela Bassett, are listed amongst the highest paid black women in Hollywood. To some fans, that's just an incentive to work harder. "Bringing me back to the fact that Beyoncé will have her foot on my neck for the rest of my life, reminding me that we have the same 24 hours and I need to do better," said one fan on Twitter. The Little Mermaid's director, Rob Marshall, announced on Tuesday that 19-year-old Halle Bailey would star as Ariel after an "extensive search." He attributed the pick to Bailey's "rare combination of spirit, heart, youth, innocence, and substance." The young talent has been a rising star in the world of music, television and film for years, though this role will undoubtedly give her name new legs. Halle Bailey is best known for her music collaborations with her 21-year-old sister, Chloe, called Chloe x Halle. The pair got their start by posting YouTube covers in 2013. Beyoncé, who will soon star in The Lion King remake, took notice of their take of her song "Pretty Hurts" and signed them to her label Parkwood Entertainment. The larger-than-life pop star has served as a mentor for the girls, taking them on two of her tours. Chloe x Halle opened for Beyoncé's European leg of her Formation World Tour and her On the Run II Tour with Jay-Z. They appeared in her Lemonade visual album as well! Just take a look at the duo in the midst of Beyoncé, The Hate U Give's Amandla Stenberg, Spider-Man: Far From Home's Zendaya, and the twin sisters from Ibeyi: Chloe and Halle released their debut album in 2018, titled The Kids Are Alright, which they wrote and executive produced. The album got them nominated for two Grammy nominations, including for Best New Artist. The track "Warrior" was featured on Disney's Wrinkle of Time and their song "Be Yourself" was featured in Issa Rae and Regina Hall starred comedy Little. The duo's song "Grown" also became the theme song to the Freeform spin-off to ABC's Black-ish, Grown-ish. The sisters were also given regular roles on the teen show: Halle as Sky (on the left below) and Chloe, Jaz. The girls were in the 2006 Queen Latifah comedy Last Holiday, Tyler Perry's House of Payne and Disney Channel's Austin & Ally. Chloe x Halle also sang "America the Beautiful" at 2019's Super Bowl LIII Pregame show in Atlanta, which they are natives of. Check it out: Halle Bailey definitely has the vocal chops to belt out "Part of Your World" and has challenged herself with a few acting projects as well! And maybe her sister Chloe will join in on the musical as one of the daughters of Triton? Although Halle is the only actress confirmed for The Little Mermaid, reports have been swirling about Melissa McCarthy taking on Ursula and Jacob Trembley and Awkwafina playing Flounder and Scuttle. Rob Marshall has had success with bringing musicals to screen including Chicago, Into the Woods and Mary Poppins Returns. No release date has been tapped, but the film is looking to begin production in early 2020.  |

The impressive work, which is currently on display in Glasgow, depicts the West Lothian star inside a love heart on a t-shirt – as a nod to THAT Glastonbury entrance last month. Capaldi was a late addition to Sunday's TRNSMT line-up, stepping in as a late replacement for Snow Patrol who had to pull out for medical reasons. And our sister title Glasgow Live reports that the striking tribute comes courtesy of shop Teeshirt Nation, which is located in the Trongate area of the city centre. Manager Jane Sweeney said: "We haven't done the big t-shirt advert since The Stone Roses played at Glasgow Green back in 2013 – then we put up our own tribute to Ian Brown with his iconic 'Fools Gold' t-shirt. "We thought, everybody loves Lewis Capaldi. He is absolutely brilliant and a funny wee guy. Scotland is dead proud of him. And it's a wee play on the beef he has with Noel Gallagher also. "Maybe he'll come by and get his photo taken underneath before his set tomorrow." While Capaldi's TRNSMT set may not be until tomorrow (Sunday) one of his biggest hits has already been heard on the main stage. Stormzy last night launched into a cover of Someone You Loved during his brilliant headline set.  Video Loading He told the crowd: "Lewis Capaldi is a f****** bad boy. Since I know he's playing at TRNSMT, I want to do something for the home crowd. "He's a legend." For anyone heading through to TRNSMT to see Lewis Capaldi tomorrow, you can see the tribute on a wall at the junction of King Street and Kings Court in Glasgow. Capaldi will take to the main stage before headliner George Ezra. Other acts on the bill include Emeli Sande, The Kooks, Circa Waves and The Wombats.
